ORC Corp is Hiring an Information Technology Help Desk Technician Near North, SC

ORC is seeking a full-time, non-exempt Help Desk Technicianto work remotely from their home office in North or South Carolina.

The Help Desk Technician serves as the first line of IT support for all employees in all offices nationwide. Will be responsible for providing excellent end user and office support, assertion of best practices, compliance monitoring, and data integrity. Must be comfortable in a remote work environment.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Hardware and software setup
  • Office network configuration
  • Hardware and software deployment
  • User training and support
  • New hire technical setup items
  • Daily usage of internal ticket system

  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task with strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor under pressure and operate with keen sense of urgency and commitment to quality

  • Ability to handle confidential information and sensitive issues with diplomacy and discretion

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in direct IT Help Desk and support.
  • Must live in North or South Carolina
  • Solid Windows 10 computer setup, configuration and troubleshooting
  • Solid Office/Office 365 ( Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) configuration and troubleshooting
  • Solid network troubleshooting and demonstrated understanding of the following concepts:
    • TCP/IP stack
    • DHCP
    • DNS
    • Basic routing
    • Proxies
    • Related diagnostic tools
  • Experience in supporting a distributed, remote customer/employee base
  • Understanding of basic IT security technologies
  • Must have an iOS or Android smartphone to be able to access ORC's systems.
  • English language proficient
  • Valid Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Past or Current Vendor IT Certifications (Comptia A , Network , etc.)

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to clearly communicate and exchange information in person, via phone and email. Substantial repetitive movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers due to high computer usage and typing. Expected to spend long hours in front of a computer screen. Able to read, understand and interpret department related documents and data. Able to make quick decisions. This is a largely sedentary role; however, the employee frequently handles and moves computer equipment, including laptops and monitors. Must be able to transport, install and ship equipment weighing up to 30 pounds. Occasional travel is required.
