Job Description:
* Explain waiver procedures. Review applications for waivers; check VIR for complete and adequate information. Perform waiver inspections and grant or deny waivers according to MVA regulations. Explain waiver denials to motorists, documenting the reason(s) for denial.
* Give tests results to motorists.
* Assist motorists with extension requests; issue extensions in accordance with state guidelines.
* Perform janitorial and facility care tasks as required.
* Perform emissions tests as needed.
* Perform other duties as assigned by station management
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Successful completion of certification training program for customer service/emissions testing
Thorough knowledge of test procedures
Automotive knowledge and/or customer service background is preferred, but not required
Excellent organization skills with keen attention to detail
Must be able to communicate politely with the general public
Frequent standing, up to 90% of the time
Ability to perform emissions testing as needed
