THE ROLE: Engineer, Network 

Job Summary:

As a Network Engineer will Presidio, you will be focused on engineering for our enterprise client. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting global technical environment, a high level of technical skills for troubleshooting and problem analysis, along with the ability to clearly communicate the results of problem analysis to client representatives, IT support teams, and technology vendors to quickly and effectively resolve operational issues. The Engineer works in direct partnership with the client and internal Presidio teams to build and support complex and reliable technical solutions.

Travel Requirements:

This role will require no travel. You will be required to be onsite in the nearby Irving/Dallas, TX area.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate customer change windows 
• Design, maintain and/or troubleshoot in scope elements for assigned client(s). Adhere to contractual obligations by understanding what task and in/out of contract scope 
• Depending on customer requirements, duties may be performed onsite at customer designated location or may be remote 
• Develop a strong technical trusted advisor relationship with customer(s) 
• Create and maintain good technical supporting documentation 
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment, configuration and affected problems and track vendor support cases through to problem resolution on production issues 
• Manage incident and changes within ServiceNow and/or other client system if specific to the contract 
• Demonstrate a working knowledge, understanding, and experience with Network infrastructure (WAN, MAN, LAN, Security, Wi-Fi, Data, Voice, and Video) while engaging customer(s) 

Technology/Area of Specialization:

Network:

• Design, maintenance and third level support for Cisco routing and switching
• Perform testing of new features, and functionality as required and help develop plans to implement and verify that they are operating correctly in the live network 
• Established and proven experience of providing WAN & LAN support in diverse environments 
• Wireshark
• Network protocols (IP, OSPF, BGP, RIP, IPsec, etc)
• MPLS / VPN / Hybrid WAN / Metro Networks / leased lines
• Network Hardware (Cisco routers and switches, cabling, firewalls)
• Network connections to Cloud Providers (AWS, Azure, etc.)
• Incident, Change and Problem Management processes within an ITIL based framework

Additional Desired Skills:

• Familiarity with Cisco DNA and ISE desired
• CCNP preferred

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience and/or military experience
• 5 years' experience designing, implementing and maintaining large network infrastructures
• 5 years' experience troubleshooting devices within their engineering field
• CCNP preferred or equivalent experience related to the area of specialty is required
