Position Summary:

The Accounting Specialist performs a variety of duties related to financial preparation and reporting including accounts payable, general ledger coding, deposit preparation, payroll processing as well as other accounting related and administrative responsibilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare bank deposits.
  • Reviews billing statements, invoices, and similar documents for accuracy.
  • Efficiently process invoices and credits from vendors, ensuring adherence to payment terms to uphold and enhance our positive reputation.
  • Add financial information to journals and ledgers.
  • Managing and reconciling bank and credit card statements.
  • Prepare weekly check run and bill payments.
  • Create and maintain accounting documents and records.
  • Perform timely and accurate account reconciliations.
  • Perform administrative and clerical duties such as mail processing and distribution, answering telephones, supply orders, data entry, photocopying, scanning, and filing.
  • Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll and employee expense reimbursements.
  • Assist in the compilation and completion of periodic reports.
  • Assist with special projects or requests related to monthly close, year end, and budget.
  • Perform other duties as needed/assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one year experience within an accounting department performing accounts payable.
  • Must be able to calculate basic math functions and perform standard business calculations.
  • Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
  • Experience processing general ledger transactions in accounting software, QuickBooks, or other accounting software.
  • Experience with payroll processing using Paychex or other payroll software.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, management, staff, and contacts outside the organization.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
  • Keen attention to detail to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and ensure confidentiality in every aspect of the role.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College degree in related or relevant field.
  • Two or more years’ experience in accounting.
  • Experience in healthcare setting.

Additional Information:

This position requires work to be performed on-site and occasional travel to one or more of our medical office locations. All applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
