Are you looking for an opportunity to use your HR experience to support a global dynamic and impactful organization?

CRDF Global is hiring a Human Resources Generalist/Office Manager with Intermediate level English language skills to support all HR functions in the organization’s new program office in Nouakchott, Mauritania. *This position is contingent upon contract award.

The Human Resources Generalist will report to the Chief of Party. This position is responsible for the execution of the following functions to support the CRDF Global staff in Mauritania: talent acquisition, compensation, and benefits management, performance management, staff engagement, and administrative support functions of the office to include finance and payroll administration The ideal candidate is proactive, solutions-focused, detail-oriented, and thrives in an open-door culture. 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Manages the talent acquisition process in Mauritania: recruiting staff and subject matter experts, managing the CRDF Global interview process, and hiring and onboarding new staff (including necessary background checks). Manages offboarding process of departing staff
  • Maintains the compensation structure, including providing competitive market research and analysis
  • Manages and administers payroll and benefits program for staff, including regular evaluation of employee benefits
  • Oversees CRDF Global’s performance management process in the Mauritania office
  • Performs office management duties
  • Maintains HRIS, ensuring accuracy of data and full utilization of the system. Trains staff as necessary on the system
  • Maintains compliance with all relevant labor regulations in Mauritania
  • Manages relationship with external HR vendors and consultants

Qualifications:

  • 5 years’ experience in general HR support, including recruitment and compensation and benefits; experience with finance and office administration a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of HR practices and applicable laws within the Mauritania
  • Experience working in an international organization
  • Intermediate level English language skills.
  • Experience working with HRIS for maintaining employee data and applicant tracking
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Bachelors’ degree or equivalent required
  • Experience resolving complex benefits issues
  • Excellent problem solving, written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact comfortably and effectively with individuals at all levels and across multiple geographies. Ability to travel periodically
  • Ability to multitask and work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced Microsoft office skills: Word, PowerPoint and Excel
