Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support and assistance to individuals in need. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping individuals with daily activities, ensuring their well-being, and promoting their independence.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care and assistance to individuals, including bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding
- Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals
- Support individuals with memory care needs
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including the use of lifting equipment
- Monitor and report any changes in the individual's condition or behavior
- Engage in meaningful activities with individuals to promote social interaction and mental stimulation
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for individuals
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure the best possible care
Experience:
- Previous experience working in memory care, assisted living, or nursing home settings is preferred
- Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and emergency response protocols
- Strong caregiving skills, including empathy, patience, and attentiveness to individual needs
- Ability to follow care plans and instructions from healthcare professionals
