Summary:

Provide transportation for seniors and adults to-and-from the center. Service areas include Chula Vista and surrounding communities.

Requirements:
--Minimum Class C Driver’s License
--DMV H-6 Report
--Medical Card current and registered with the DMV
--Subject to DMV pull notice program and pre-employment live scan.
--Ability to drive 12 passenger van safely.
--Positive Attitude, teamwork mentality, compassion for Seniors and Adults who attend our program.

-- Assist other departments as needed.

Requirements:

--Basic Skills:
Dependability, Positive Attitude, Punctuality, Creativity, Enthusiasm, Flexibility, and Patience.
Reliable transportation. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, and in writing, and familiar with
MS Word and PowerPoint

--Inter-personal Skills:
Sensitivity to the needs, interests, limitations, and abilities of participants.
Ability to organize, supervise, and direct others; Assume and delegate responsibility;
accept advice and consultation.

--Physical abilities:
Direct participation in fine and gross motor activities. Performance of a medium level of physical work;
pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, standing, carrying, and reaching.

ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION:

Open Arms was founded in 2006 to serve our community of seniors and adults with chronic medical conditions who require ongoing monitoring and supervision. We serve those with mobility impairments, cognitive impairments and sensory impairments. As well as those with risk factors such as wander-risk, fall-risk, choke-risk, frailty, and caregiver burnout.

The primary objectives of the program are to:

• Provide relief for families with caregiving responsibilities.
• Promote the highest level of functioning and independence.
• Delay or prevent the need for institutional care.
• Monitor the health and well-being of all its participants.

At Open Arms we consider our seniors and adults as family, and we tailor our program to fit our family’s needs. Open Arms has a dedicated team of healthcare professionals who conduct a comprehensive assessment of each potential participant to determine and plan services needed to meet the individual’s specific health and social needs. We are a multilingual program. Languages spoken include English, Lao, Spanish, and Tagalog.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $18 to $20 per hour

Schedule:

• 7 to 7.5 hour shift

Experience:

• Computer skills: 1 year (Preferred)
