Job Summary & Responsibilities (15%) Execution – New Product Development & Launch Collaborate with Technical & Design Teams throughout the PLC process in driving towards the product vision. Alignment between the PRD (Product requirements document) and SRD (Systems Requirements document) Support in dispositioning change requests to the PRD/SRD in support of the PLC process Lead / provide-direction in trade-offs between requirements, costs and timing for new product development (15%) Collaborating with other functions (Marketing, Apps Eng., Operations, Finance, Sales etc.) Collaborate with apps engineering, production, and sales to create new products or improve existing ones. Ensure that product marketing and sales are prepared to outperform the competition by supporting the creation of collateral that successfully communicates the product's value proposition. Support sales by taking the lead on technical responses to customer requests, including customer RFIs and RFQs and specification gap analyses. Work with application engineering to develop comprehensive application flow (use cases) and best-known methods (BKMs) to support the flow (15%) Product Strategies Work with Product and Strategic Marketing to identify areas for growth and drive product definition, design and development, customer engagement and roadmap extensions. (15%) Defining Product Requirements Define next-generation product requirements (PRD) based on customers’ requirements documents and competitive analysis, and market research. Define MVP (Minimum Viable Product), feature priorities and decide detailed release scope working with the R&D, operations, quality assurance and project management. [Note: MVP – MSCW (M -Must haves, S -Should haves, C- Could haves, W -Will not have)] Drive product development objectives in terms of cost, time, and performance. (10%) Planning & Maintaining Roadmaps Develop & maintain product roadmaps. Collecting research, ideas, and feedback; translating and working with product marketing prioritizing these materials into specific features and initiatives (pruning process); and ultimately adding them to the roadmap (10%) Engaging with Customers Work with Product Marketing on product rollout and customer engagement plans working with product engineering and accounting teams. Acquire deep customer knowledge through interactions with customers to gain understanding of their technical requirements and effectively translate these requirements into the product roadmaps. Manage issues and customer escalations associated with product, systems and tools, and manufacturing supply. (5%) Pricing Strategies Collaborates cross-functionally on competitive selling, pricing, market development and field solutions. (5%) Researching Market & Competition Assess competitive technologies and help product marketing to define sales strategies and collateral. Support product marketing in the research of competitors’ product performance through press releases, customer feedback, other and perform SWOT analysis to understand how to position Onto’s product or new applications Onto technology may be a fit for. Develop, with engineering, the technology roadmaps (core technology not just the product) by working with partners and suppliers to ensure we have a steady pipeline of technology being developed for use in the products. (10%) Product Management P/L & PLC Manage the P&L (sales and gross margin, cost of quality (post warranty support)) for the assigned portfolio. Develop and execute product business plan by analyzing business development opportunities and monitoring market trends. Use sales forecasting and strategic planning to ensure sales and profitability of our products. Deliver sustained profitable growth. Prioritize inputs from service, roadmaps, customer requests, and operations. Work with accountable depts to ensure priorities are tracked and meeting commitments. Set product commitments to the field. Ultimate authority on product performance specifications. Coordinate all depts to ensure proper adherence to the PLC process and deliverables are on time and meet or exceed committed program specifications. Ensure proper training materials are developed and rolled out to depts so that the product line is not negatively impacted by field or service quality. Support product marketing to build a strong pipeline of demand for new products / features with limited beta and operational service overheads. Drive YoY gross margin expansion by developing and executing robust pricing strategies and driving operational productivity. Qualifications BS in engineering or equivalent is required An advanced degree (MBA) or relevant P&L management experience preferred 5 plus years or more experience in Product Management in semiconductor/capital equipment, metrology or inspection background for power device/compound semi is desirable 5 plus years or more experience as an Engineer in semiconductor/ capital equipment, metrology, or inspection background is desirable Proven ability to assess long-range market and technology trends to develop roadmaps to capitalize on those trends, Technical expertise with CD, overlay metrology or defect inspection is highly desirable. Must be comfortable in making product-level decisions. Attention to detail to ensure clear product definition and performance requirements. Is process driven and evangelizes the PLC and other Product Management related processes Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to inspire others, and to drive exceptional results. Ability to work well autonomously and within diverse, multi-cultural, and dispersed teams. Leadership skills to influence, organize and lead across multiple functional organizations with the ability to bring ideas and plans to desired results. Ability to develop strong relationships with engineering, sales, and field support organizations. Strong business acumen and creativity. Excellent Interpersonal skills to build business relationships with key decision-makers, both within and outside the Company Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
