Online Technical Services is Hiring a Project Financial Analyst Near Fairfax, VA

The Project Financial Analyst documents project requirements throughout its lifecycle, ensuring the project team stays within scope, schedule, and budget. You will act as a liaison between technical, functional, and non-functional teams, facilitating client interactions, providing guidance on resource allocation, and tracking financial progress. You will ensure compliance with company accounting standards and government requirements (Caltrans, Prevailing Wage, FAR, etc.). Having a strong background in the Defense Contracting Industry is essential, with demonstrated experience in leading successful rapid design/development preferred.

Required Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and track project financials, deliverables, artifacts, meeting minutes, and plans
  • Create Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)
  • Implement controls to support, monitor, and communicate budget, actual status, and forecast costs and labor hours; issue timely reports
  • Prepare Incurred Cost Submission
  • Knowledge of AP/AR and Journal Entries
  • Understand contract documents related to billing and revenue recognition; review and edit documentation
  • Maintain billing files; calculate, review, and compile project invoices
  • Submit invoices into WAWF or other contract-specific submission requirements
  • Follow up on payment collections and discrepancies; provide support to Project Management group including cost analysis
  • Develop documentation using Word and Excel; proof, edit, and format communications
  • Attend meetings, set up and coordinate meetings; document and distribute meeting minutes and action items
  • Assist with SharePoint administration; recognize, monitor, and provide solutions for risks/issues
  • Support proposal review, risk assessment/management, negotiation, and conflict resolution
  • Analyze and resolve corporate business risk areas; provide detailed analysis of contract terms and conditions
  • Budget Financials experience; manage money for Program Managers

Required Qualifications:

  • Positive, “can-do” attitude; experience leading and cultivating customer relationships
  • Working knowledge of Excel and SQL interface
  • Experience with Billing and Project Setup; federal government contracting environment
  • Experience preparing Incurred Cost Submission spreadsheets
  • Ability to interact effectively with others and work independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics Navision (version 2016 and up)
  • Planning, organizing, supervising, coordinating technical work, and obtaining cooperation from others
  • Scheduling skills; use of IT tools, including spreadsheets, word processing, planning, and scheduling software
  • Knowledge of Far/DFAR and ITAR export regulations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; organizational and documentation skills

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of industry experience as an accountant overseeing project execution in the design/development program lifecycle phase, ensuring projects meet client schedule and budget objectives

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
