Oneida Health is currently seeking a part-time Food Prep Helper for its day shift (7am - 3pm) for the Deli/Salad Bar in its Hospital Café. This position is primarily responsible for assisting in the preparation and service of food and cleaning kitchen equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience in food production and be serious about cleanliness and safety in the kitchen.

What You’ll be Great At:

• Executing recipes and or product directions
• Estimating food requirements
• Operating a variety of kitchen utensils to weigh, measure, mix, wash, peel, cut, grind, stir, strain, season, and knead food for cooking, serving, and storing.
• Assisting in the preparation of hot and/or cold foods, and properly storing food, utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and spoilage.
• Inspecting workstations for compliance with service standards
• Keeping records and requisitions for supplies and equipment as needed
• Cleaning and sanitizing workstations and equipment following all client and regulatory rules and procedures
• Testing products to ensure the desired tastiness
• Completing basic cooking responsibilities
• Attending all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training
• Complying with all HACCP policies and procedures
• Following safety precautions when using kitchen equipment.
