Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Assistant to provide support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities. As a Personal Assistant, you will play a crucial role in helping individuals maintain their independence and improve their quality of life. Duties:
- Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure dietary needs are met
- Administer first aid when necessary and monitor health conditions
- Implement behavior support plans and assist with behavior management
- Support individuals in participating in social activities and community outings
- Assist with medication management and ensure adherence to prescribed regimens
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals
Experience:
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
- Knowledge of home care practices and lift systems is a plus
- Familiarity with dementia care techniques is beneficial
- Experience in social work or nursing home settings is advantageous
