Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Assistant to provide support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities. Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities
- Assist with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Prepare nutritious meals and ensure dietary needs are met
- Administer first aid and medication as needed
- Assist with mobility and lifting, using proper techniques and equipment
- Implement behavior management strategies as directed by supervisors
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided
- Ensure the safety and well-being of clients at all times
- Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
Skills:
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
- Knowledge of home care practices and procedures
- Familiarity with lifting systems and techniques
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and maintaining client confidentiality
- Ability to provide dementia care and support for individuals with memory loss
- Knowledge of social work principles and techniques
- Experience in nursing home or assisted living settings is a plus
