Summary/Objective:Reporting to the Controller, the Property Accounting Manager will be responsible for management of the portfolios, and overseeing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Property Accountants. Classification: Exempt (not overtime eligible)Essential function/Responsibilities: duties include but are not limited to the followingThe property accountant manager will be responsible for a portfolio of properties and managing the team of 4-6 staff. Reconcile bank statements daily and reconcile monthly. Journalize various expenses and adjusted journal entries monthly. Review the general ledger for inaccuracies monthly. Ensure subsidiary ledgers match the trial balance. Produce balance sheets workpaper and generate monthly reports. Process security deposits and reconcile SD bank statements. Response to needs of other departments and external parties. Assist with year-end close and audit preparation. Responsible to review cash flow for mortgage and property funding needsGuides accounting team members on various task and inquiries.Prepare wire transfers and review banking balances for payables selection.Assist in new transition of take over of new properties and other ad-hoc assignments. Requirements: Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting5 years of accounting experience within the real estate industry; residential/affordable experience preferred, commercial a plus.Working knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Financial Reporting. Must be proficient in Microsoft applications - Word and ExcelPrefer a working knowledge of Yardi Voyager software or similar software like MRI, TimberlineStrong organization skills with great attention to detail Ability to work independently as well as in a team Self-starter who is willing to take initiative on tasksSuperior Customer Service skills requiredAbility to multi-task, prioritize and work efficientlyStrong capability to communicate effectively both verbally and written, including giving and receiving feedback with all levels within the organization Ability to perform at high levels in a fast paced, ever-changing work environment Salary Range: $110,000 - 115,000 Benefits:We pay 100% of medical benefits, for employee only.
