Job Description

To ensure proper training and supervision of all Engineering personnel and to provide consistent, cost-effective maintenance programs that ensure the Hotels safe and efficient operation.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Inspect physical plant and equipment, and shall supervise maintenance and preventative maintenance programs of that area.
• Maintain and follow up on all preventive maintenance programs.
• Conduct Daily and Weekly MOS’s on all line staff.
• Conduct training monthly.
• Inventory and order parts as needed to maintain proper Par levels on stock items.
• Directly supervises associates in daily operations of the Engineering Department.
• PM Program for Meeting Rooms, Guest Rooms.
• Maintain BEO’s for electrical work, telephones and banners.
• Room inspections.
• Coordinate with other departments all work necessary to maintain general conditions, safety and health standards set forth by hotel policy and legal requirements.
• Maintain and distribute work based on Synergy System.
• Follow up and complete all Synergy items.

• Water treatments, cleaning, degreasers, coil cleaners, paint thinners, gasoline.
• Facemask (chemical testing), goggles.

• Duties may be adjusted by management when the need arises.

• Visually check hotel premises.
• Communicate with management and staff.
• Review procedures, reports, budgets, instructions.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of life safety equipment
• Welding, brazing, and soldering
• Knowledge of refrigeration repairs
• Able to read blueprints and schematics.
• Knowledge of pool equipment and operation

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent bending and/or kneeling throughout day for repairs and maintenance of hotel property, equipment and machinery (50% of job function).
• Mobility throughout the hotel, all floors, varying heights and distances. Use of ladders and lifts required.
• Continuous standing required in varying degrees throughout the day.
• Stairs - up to approximately 210 steps.
• Limited driving on an occasional basis for supplies, equipment, etc. Generally within 20 miles.
• Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying of weights up to50 pounds and occasionally greater, for all hotel equipment and machinery.

Working Environment:

• All areas of the resort (indoors and outdoors).

• Exterior of hotel with exposure to weather conditions.

• Exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures.

Tools & Equipment:

• Operate ladders and lifts – up to approximately 65 feet.
• Power hand tools (ie. circular saw, drill).
• Telephone, photo-copying machine, computer, printer, any and all tools associated with the Engineering Department.
