Job Description

Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU, a prestigious and vibrant hotel known for its impeccable service and luxurious amenities, is seeking a Director of Finance. This key leadership role is integral to our hotel's success, ensuring financial health and operational efficiency. We are looking for a seasoned professional with a strong background in hotel finance management. The Director of Finance will be a strategic thinker, proficient in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting, with a focus on maximizing profitability and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Financial Leadership & Strategy: Direct all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions. Develop financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements; identifying monetary resources; and developing action plans.
• Budget Management & Oversight: Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget. Direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and establish other planning and control procedures.
• Financial Reporting & Compliance: Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements. Oversee internal audit functions to maintain accuracy and compliance.
• Operational Collaboration: Collaborate with hotel management to optimize hotel performance. Oversee the purchasing, receiving, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR) functions.
• Cash Management: Conduct cash flow analysis, oversee cash handling procedures, and ensure effective management of hotel finances.
• Profit & Loss (P&L) Review: Regularly review and analyze the P&L statements to identify areas for financial improvement and efficiency gains.
• Software Proficiency: Mastery in Oracle, Birchstreet, and OneStream software. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and analysis.
• Team Management: Lead the finance team, fostering an environment of continuous learning and development.
• Executive Committee: Actively contribute to the leadership of the hotel.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of finance leadership experience in the hotel industry. Previous experience as a Director of Finance in a hotel setting is mandatory. Other industry experience will not be considered.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred. An MBA is advantageous.
• Exceptional analytical and financial management skills.
• Strong leadership abilities and excellent interpersonal skills. Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures in the hospitality industry.
• Relevant financial certifications will be an asset.
• Candidates must demonstrate a proven track record of success in hotel finance.
• Strong ethical standards and a high level of personal integrity.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with proactive follow up and deadline adherence. 
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Mastery of Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Oracle, Birchstreet, and OneStream preferred.
