Keolis Transit America is Hiring a Director of Finance - West Region Near Tempe, AZ

Role Title: Director of Finance – West Region

Manager: VP FP&A & Performance

Manager-once-Removed: EVP Finance/CFO

Location: Los Angeles Area (CA), Anaheim or Irvine (CA), Phoenix area (AZ)

You will:

  • Be the key Finance Business Partner for the West Region operations (6 different operations located in Southern California & Arizona): Regional VP of Operations, General Managers of each operation.
  • Be able to monitor financial performance of West Region operations, implement action plans to correct deviation to forecast and Budget, drive results and strategy of each operation.
  • Own and lead the planning and budget process for the West Region. Deliver robust and accurate forecast, implement and deliver on action plan to ensure delivery of financial targets.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Finance with progressive increasing responsibilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required, Master’s degree preferred
  • Accounting or Finance (CPA, CFA) designation preferred
  • Experience managing a full P&L, Working capital and Operating Free Cash Flow
  • Experience managing and mentoring a team
  • Prior experience in implementation BI/Reporting and planning tool
  • Transit related finance experience preferred (but not required)
  • Ability to meet critical deadlines and achieve organizational objectives
  • Strong work experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Access
  • Proficiency with ERPs and Reporting Tools; Microsoft Dynamics/Anaplan a plus
  • High level of analytic, quantitative, and financial modelling skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills a must
  • Takes responsibility and initiative to think and act independently and proactively
  • Travel on operations site

Key Accountabilities includes, but are not limited to:

  • Implement and manage performance dialogue with West Region operations and key stakeholders (RVP, GM, heads of department). Drive “look ahead” and performance mindset with internal stakeholders.
  • Owns month end close process over the West Region – AP/AR/Inventory/Fixed Assets
  • Manage and forecast cash-flow and working capital, ensure timely collection of AR balances
  • Provide timely and accurate consolidated reporting and forecast with insights from financial trends and operational KPIs/performance
  • Owns the budget planning cycle and long-term strategic plan for the West Region:
    • Budget model update with local stakeholder and improvement of forecast methodology
    • Drive implementation and monitoring of action plan to correct financial performance when needed
    • Presentation to Executive Management and clients
  • Develop, coach and lead the West Region finance team, which includes 3 Finance Managers
  • Ensure reporting requirements are met, for both internal and external purposes
  • Responds to ad-hoc financial analysis, special projects and similar duties
  • Ensure compliance and delegation of authority is applied and respected throughout the organization.
  • Implement, drive, and monitor internal controls when necessary.
  • Directs change management initiatives for new or major improvements to finance systems; directs the development and implementation of end-user training; understands emerging approaches to training delivery.
  • Document financial processes, initiate process improvement and action plan to ensure key financial and contractual targets are being met.
