Job Description

To fully develop the assigned Market Segment concentrating on the solicitation of new profitable business and rebooking repeat business. To achieve monthly revenue booking goals, solicitation goals, develop and implement action plans, maintain positive customer and interdepartmental communications. This position is eligible for the Omni Sales Incentive Plan.

Responsibilities

  • Provides customer service to guests on the phone and in person in a friendly and professional mannerin accordance with Omni’s Service Points
  • Achieve monthly catering and group revenue booking goals.
  • Maximize catering revenues from customers by minimizing erosion of check averages from pricesensitive groups. Communicate event details to all operations departments.
  • Maximize room revenue by utilizing the tools provided to merchandise guest rooms and suites forgroup reservations.
  • Provide hotel site inspections when necessary and entertain clients to establish closer workingrelations when appropriate.
  • Manage all aspects of event details with internal and external customers to include but not limited to:menu design and selection, audiovisual orders, exhibitor management, outside vendor coordination.
  • Solicit accounts within assigned market segment utilizing FDC. Prospect and develop new accountsin line with the hotel's stated Mission Statement.
  • Takes initiative to support the Sales and Hotel Team in all areas to achieve external and internal guestsatisfaction.
  • Greet client prior to event start time. Maintains a presence on the banquet floor during theconference. Will ensure the meeting arrangements are met to contract specifications.
  • Maintains account files and ensures that all information is included in file, i.e. correspondence,booking recaps, contracts, credit applications, BEO’s, etc.
  • After the conclusion of event reviews final bill and comments with meeting planner. Ensure 100�curacy and timely processing of bill.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the Sales Action Plan (SMART Plans).
  • Submit weekly and monthly sales reports on a timely basis.
  • Follows all FDC and office standards by recording activities, trace dates, accurate histories and all relevant information regarding booking activity.
  • Participate in the ongoing forecasting process.
  • Is current and abides by all sales office procedures and systems.
  • Promote a high-quality company image by demonstrating professionalism to both clients and colleagues.
  • Recommend improvement of facilities and services as needed.
  • Completes any other assignments from the Director of Catering and Convention Services.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent. College degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of 1 year hotel sales/catering experience and/or successful completion of Omni LID program. 
  • Knowledge of the operations of the hotel industry. 
  • Dynamic, enthusiastic, creative leader who thrives under pressure and is able to perform multiple functions and troubleshoot when needed. 
  • Command of the English language both written and verbal, with the ability to demonstrate warmth and empathy when engaging with others. 
  • Must have proven selling, negotiating and presentation skills. 
  • Requires knowledge of advanced sales techniques. 
  • Highly developed customer service skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook. Delphi experience preferred. 
  • The ability to delegate, effectively train and coach 
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
