As a Corporate Counsel you will support all day-to-day legal activities.
\nWhat You'll Do at OM1
- Lead all aspects of the Legal department including the Contract Specialist
- Draft and negotiate contracts with clients, partners, vendors, and research sites
- Support business development efforts including developing scalable contract templates
- Serve as escalation point for legal questions from Contracts Specialist
- Assist with questions related to HIPAA and other data privacy regulations
- Review existing agreements and assist outside counsel with legal business regarding the company’s rights and obligations
- Provide general legal legal, corporate, commercial, and compliance support for the company’s activities
- Assist Outside General Counsel with the company’s intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks
- Work with the company’s liability insurance broker to help oversee the risk management/insurance program
- Develop and deliver relevant training programs to management and staff
- Juris Doctor degree and a member of the Massachusetts State Bar
- A minimum of 3-5 years of related legal life sciences experience in a fast paced, high tech environment working with life sciences companies, CROs, and clinical research sites
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security regulations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects or tasks while effectively prioritizing to meet deadlines in high volume and an ever changing fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures
- Demonstrated experience/maturity to handle confidential and sensitive information
- Demonstrated experience with contract negotiations
- Demonstrated experience using a contracts management system
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and GSuite software
