Olymbec USA LLC is Hiring a HVAC Technician Near Memphis, TN

HVAC TECHNICIAN

Classification: non-exempt, hourly Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Summary/Objective 

This position provides skilled Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC)services with specific responsibility for identifying repair and/or replacement needs; installing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading HVAC and Energy Management Control Systems (EMCS) and equipment in accordance with industry best practices; ensuring that all work is done according to design specifications, state and local building codes, and applicable regulation. 

Essential Functions 

  • Analyzes blue prints, schematics, and drawings for the purpose of identifying the location of new and existing HVAC systems and determining the efficient installation of additional systems
  • Cleans air conditioning and heating units (e.g. coils, condensation pans, drain lines, cooling towers, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring units are operating efficiently, correctly and within safety guidelines.
  • Coordinates with supervisor and other trades (e.g. inspectors, suppliers, contractors, district personnel, consultants, etc.) for the purpose of completing projects and work orders
  • Diagnoses causes of problems and/or failures in HVAC systems and energy management control systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs ensuring responsive and corrective action for urgent building operation items, indoor air quality, thermal comfort parameters.
  • Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with building and safety regulations.
  • Installs HVAC equipment and systems (e.g. actuators, compressors, building control systems, DDC sensors, heat pumps, control panels, energy management control systems, pressure reducing valves, etc.) for the purpose of providing enhanced and/or upgraded capabilities
  • Maintains records (e.g. equipment repair history, work orders, test reports, etc.) for the purpose of documenting required information.
  • Monitors HVAC systems and their components (e.g. heating units, building exhaust fans, ventilation units, etc.) for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Performs emergence, predictive and preventive maintenance for the purpose of ensuring the ongoing functioning of HVAC systems
  • Reports problems to Senior HVAC Technician.

Supervisory Responsibility 

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment 

  • This job requires working in commercial spaces including but not limited to industrial, warehouse, and office environments.
  • This position will require working indoors and outdoors in various climate conditions ranging from very hot to very cold with rain to very hot and humid. This may include confined locations.

  • Regularly requires sitting, walking, bending, and lifting for prolonged periods of time.
  • The employee must have a full range of body movements including the use of hands feet and fingers to handle or feel objects and must be capable of bending, reaching, and crouching.
  • Able to handle or feel objects and use tools and equipment and must be capable of bending, reaching, crouching, climbing and crawling.
  • Must have command of all five senses sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus. Must hear and speak well enough to conduct business over the telephone or face to face for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force.
  • Must be able to use a ladder.

Required Education and Experience

  • Driver’s license.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Trade school
  • Two (2) years’ experience doing general maintenance work in a commercial space.
  • Three (3) years’ HVAC experience
  • EPA universal refrigerant handling license
  • Knowledge of code

Working Hours

Typical workweek is forty (40) hours per week. Work hours are determined by your supervisor. During peak times and seasonal extreme weather-related events, position may require longer hours.

Travel 

Travel within the local area is required.
