Accounting Internship

Olsen Thielen & Co., Ltd., a progressive 100 year old company, located in Roseville & Eden Prairie, MN is seeking talented, enthusiastic individuals to join our team. OTCO's culture as a mid-size firm allows for multiple opportunities and professional growth. The internship can be in our Roseville or Eden Prairie office depending on where you live or attending school.

Your full-time busy season internship will begin in January and conclude in mid-April 2024. Your success is important to us and our team is committed to continuous training and guidance to help you accomplish your professional and personal goals throughout your career at OTCO. Your internship will begin with onboarding and technical training. In addition, you will be pared with a mentor to connect with and receive feedback to help you develop professionally.

Your internship will give you the opportunity to:

• Prepare basic personal and business tax returns
• Prepare amended returns, personal tax projections, property tax refunds, employee benefit plan returns, carry-back returns, and payroll tax returns
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of various tax programs
• Work directly with firm partners, managers, directors, and senior accountants
• Have hands on assistance on multiple audits, reviews, and compilations from beginning to end
• Travel with other teammates to client sites
• Work with multiple clients in a variety of niches from telecommunications, manufacturing, non for profit, real estate, etc.

Qualifications:

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting
• Maintaining a 3.0 GPA or higher is preferred
• Junior or Senior or higher status and on tract to graduate with 150 credits
• Ability and motivated about working overtime as needed
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively both in written and verbal capacities
• Strong interpersonal skills and team-oriented
• Authorized to work in the United States
