1. Assist Healthcare Professionals: Provide assistance to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals during patient examinations and procedures.
2. Patient Care: Escort patients to exam rooms, obtain and record vital signs, prepare patients for examinations, and assist with minor medical procedures as directed by healthcare providers.
3. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including patient history, medications, allergies, and other pertinent information. Ensure all documentation is complete and compliant with healthcare regulations.
4. Administrative Duties: Perform various administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, managing patient referrals, and processing insurance forms.
5. Medical Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all medical equipment is properly sterilized, calibrated, and maintained according to established protocols.
6. Patient Education: Provide patients with instructions and information regarding medications, treatments, and follow-up care as directed by healthcare providers.
7. Compliance: Adhere to all relevant healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and other legal requirements. Always maintain patient confidentiality.
1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited institution preferred.
2. Certification: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification preferred.
3. Experience: Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting is advantageous but not required.
