Oklahoma State University is Hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator II Near Stillwater, OK

1. Skilled work in the operation of various types of heavy equipment.

2. Provide routine labor to support projects as assigned.

3.Blackout Leave Periods: Landscape services has three identified blackout periods each year. No leave will be approved during these times.
Leave requests will not be approved for the month of May, August, and October until the dates for each event listed below are posted
with main campus.
1-Two weeks prior to First day of School for Fall Semester
2-Two weeks before Homecoming
3- Two weeks before Spring Commencement

Employee in this position is required to be on rotating standby for emergencies and/or any other event after 4:30 p.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays. Employee in this position is required to work overtime when work requires. Employee in this position is required to work shift work when work can't be accomplished during regular hours, and when the Management staff deems necessary. Must use appropriate personal protective equipment as required (gloves, safety glasses, etc.). These items are not for personal use.

Outside in all types of inclement weather, high levels of dust and noise, working around and operating heavy equipment.

Exposed to extreme heat and cold, working around hazardous equipment. Job lifting requirements may exceed 100 pounds.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

High School/GED

Three years' experience operating Class B-3 construction equipment and/or similar agricultural equipment. Or one year experience as a Facilities Management Heavy Equipment Operator I.

Have before hire a valid Class B commercial driver license and a class A permit. Must obtain a valid Class A commercial driver's license within 6 months after hire and maintain during employment.

Ability to read, write, and follow oral instructions. Ability to lift at least 100 pounds. Work Outside in all types of inclement weather, high levels of dust and noise, working around and operating heavy equipment. Exposed to extreme heat and cold, working around hazardous equipment. Job lifting requirements may exceed 100 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

Five years’ experience in excavation construction.

Valid class A commercial driver’s license before hire.
