Oklahoma State University is Hiring a Communications Coordinator Near Stillwater, OK

The College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology (CEAT) at Oklahoma State University is a comprehensive unit featuring world class instruction, research, extension and online learning. We are seeking a Marketing and Communications Coordinator to join the CEAT Marketing and Communications team.
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator is responsible for writing copy for news releases, newsletters, magazine stories, ads, social media, web sites and other marketing projects. It will coordinate the creation and deployment of digital and print content to promote public awareness for the college. This will include communications for the CEAT website, newsletters, social media promotions, and other projects as assigned. In addition, this position will manage CEAT’s social media platforms and email distribution platform.
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will supervise one Marketing Specialist, overseeing all content production, special projects, and the maintenance of social media and email distribution platforms.
This position will support CEAT departments to create and maintain engaging, accurate, well-written content on the CEAT website and other digital platforms. The Coordinator must understand the communications goals of the College and will work closely with the dean, academic units, research, extension units, faculty, staff and students to facilitate the development of content.
This position will write engaging stories for departments across the college for use across a variety of media. This position will work with other OSU Marketing and Communications departments on campus as well as external vendors. This position will provide event coverage for CEAT, including news coverage and photography and/or video, when needed.
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator must demonstrate excellence in customer service principles including friendly, professional communications, timely follow-up and prompt responses.
Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations of this position are subject to change as needed to support the Marketing and Communications team and the college.
Applicants must have strong organization skills, excellent communication abilities. Must have extensive knowledge in AP writing style and strong editorial skills.

Some heavy lifting (25 lbs) may be necessary. This is not common.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field.

Three years of experience in publications, news media, or another closely related field.

Demonstrate excellence in customer service principles including friendly, professional communications, timely follow-up and prompt responses. Ability to work on Multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines. Must have strong organization skills.

Experience in AP writing and editing for feature articles, magazines stories, press releases, etc. Knowledge of and experience with social media, websites, and digital graphics. Proficient in oral and written communication.
Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision, and work in a team setting and independently. Strong analytical skills. Excellent attention to accuracy and detail. Ability to multi-task. Excellent interpersonal skills. Customer service skills. Highly organized, willing to help others set and maintain schedules. Project management experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Marketing and Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field.

3 years of work related experience.

Knowledge and experience with with InDesign, Photoshop and web development.
