Oklahoma State University is Hiring an Assistant Manager, Outreach Education Near Stillwater, OK

The College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology Professional Development (CEAT PD) unit is a national industry education and training resource center focused on providing engineering and technology-based professional development, training and certification responsive to industry needs.
The assistant manager will work closely with the manager, staff members, clients and vendors to ensure the operational success of the unit. Specifically, the assistant manager will provide support to the manager in the development and implementation of financial and operational strategies for the growth and success of the unit, including creation of goals and objectives and sales targets. The assistant manager will support the manager and staff in the identification and development of new programs and services for the unit and guide staff on pricing and scheduling of programs and events. The assistant manager will collaborate with staff and the manager to analyze program expenditures, budgets and resources; and maintain positive, professional relationships with team members, customers and vendors. The assistant manager must be self-motivated, show initiative and problem-solving skills, and demonstrate a strong customer service approach.
The assistant manager will be expected to represent the unit and the University. Employment for all unit employees is contingent upon continuous funding and revenue. In-state and out-of-state travel is expected as needed to facilitate training services and represent the unit at local, regional, and national conferences and events.

This position may require frequent in-state and out-of-state travel. Occasional international travel may be required.

May be required to stand for long periods of time during training facilitation activities. Lifting up to 50 pounds.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's in business or related field.

3 years of operations, fiscal management, and customer service experience.

Valid Driver's Licenses.

Proven ability to manage a portfolio of short- and long-term projects simultaneously including independence with planning, tracking, communicating status, and closing projects
Self-starter with the flexibility to both work independently and as part of a team
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, slide deck creation tools, and web-based applications;
Shows demonstrated ability to analyze financial data and develop reports and datasets to guide fiscal decisions for the department;
Shows demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills with proven ability to prioritize to meet deadlines
Communicates effectively with both internal and external clients and shows strong interpersonal skills among colleagues and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's in business, adult education, or related field

5 years of experience with personnel and operations management and customer service; 1 year of workforce development experience

Experience in extension and outreach work in a university-based setting; proficient in university-based information systems (Banner/AIRS/procurement)
