Job Summary:

Responsible for the developmentand facilitation of student career-related services. Coordinates with the guidance of the leadersfor the Center for Social Innovation (CFSI) and Student Services communities toprovide targeted and general student populations with career exploration, readinesstools and best practices. Implements andprovides development and integration of the CFSI) Agility Laboratory for workforce preparedness.Identifies, tests and implements strategic initiatives and processes that engage individuals to pursue career pathwaysin critical occupations.

EssentialJob Functions:

  1. Partner with the OSU system and campus programs to implement strategy and best practices to support persistence and completion strategies for OSU-OKC students and alumni to include online resources and coordinated grass-roots and intentional efforts to promote career selection, placement, and continued education to enhance students’ career readiness.
  2. Establish and maintain relationships with agencies and employers and alumni to promote job and internship opportunities for students.
  3. Work collaboratively with faculty to develop industry relationships.
  4. Develop and implement comprehensive programming in collaboration with the CFSI Senior Director to ensure the Agility Laboratory is recognized as a center of excellence in workforce preparedness, outcomes.
  5. Implement individualized career development plans through consultations and readiness strategies including exploration, resume development, mock interviews, jobs search strategies, and group session to CFSI student and other marginalized student groups.
  6. Identify, develop and maintain program outcomes and reporting as required.
  7. Completes all mandatory training and participates in a minimum of two professional development each year.
  8. Performs other duties assigned.

MinimumQualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in career/guidancecounseling, human relations, education, or closely related field.

WorkExperience:

  • Minimum of three years progressively responsible work experience.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in collegiate career counseling, human relations manager, corporate talent development or training director.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations.

Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate diplomatically, clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing to exchange information, give/receive instructions and respond to inquiries appropriately.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and sensitivity to a multicultural environment in an effort to work and communicate effectively with all students, faculty, staff and community partners.
  • High degree of initiative to work independently and also collaborate in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of office technologies including but not limited to: office computers, fax machines, scanners, internet, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Passion for assisting customers and representing the OSU-OKC and OSU brand with positivity and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated history of ethical and professional behavior.

PreferredQualifications:

  • Master’s degree in career/guidance counseling, human relations, education, or closely related field.
  • Previous experience in guiding and developing career/talent pipeline systems.
  • Strong knowledge of workforce systems and strategies.
  • Experience in higher education career services.

WorkingConditions:

  • Must be able to work flexible hours to include some nights and weekends.
  • Work will be performed in an office environment with a significant amount of public contact, in person, by telephone, via email, and various communication platforms.
  • The position may require up to 30% of the work week to be performed outside of regular working hours. Some travel may be required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Duties require extended periods of sitting, talking, and listening.
  • Duties require extensive use of computers, telephones, and other office equipment.
  • Requires possible lifting of up to 25 lbs. (If anobject weights more than 45 lbs., OSU-Oklahoma City requires this to be atwo-person lift).
