The hiring rate for this position is $23.50 - $30.96 per hour.

Summary: Ground Transportation Coordinator

The role of Transportation Coordinator demands a blend of logistical expertise, communication skills, and a keen eye for detail that effects the efficient movement of goods. Coordinators interface with customers and field offices to facilitate the movement of freight through varying modes of transport. Through planning, scheduling, and monitoring of customer shipments, a transportation coordinator ensures OIA Global will meet agreed upon service commitments. Transportation coordinators are responsible for ensuring compliance with U.S. DOT regulations, IATA regulations and the policies & procedures of OIA Global.

  • None

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Planning and scheduling of transportation via Less-than-Truckload (LTL), Full Truckload (FTL), and Airfreight.
  • Promoting a positive relationship with customers, field offices, and carrier partners by ensuring timely and proactive customer service and communication.
  • Research and compare transportation options to meet customer needs and minimize costs.
  • Tracking and reviewing shipment statuses to ensure timely departure, arrival, and delivery of freight.
  • Maintain milestone data for non-integrated carrier partners.
  • Processing data through freight management systems, ensuring accurate records of shipments and transportation costs.
  • Communicating with carrier partners to resolve any transportation-related issues.
  • Create rate quotations for individual shipments.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Word: create templates, set page layouts, edit and format functions, and include images and drawings.
  • Proficiency in Excel: working with basic formulas, IF statements, charts, and pivot tables. Able to log and analyze financial data, track business information, and perform calculations.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint: create professional presentations, add animations, transitions, and effectively convey information.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Education and Experience:

  • Previous experience in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Domestic Ground Transportation (LTL/FTL), Transborder (MX, CA).
  • Previous experience working within a Transportation Management System (TMS) and Cargowise Enterprise System.
  • Highschool diploma required.
