SERVICING PERSONNEL OFFICE/UNIT: Office of Human Resources POSITION SERIES: DS-510 POSITION GRADE: DS-13 IF "OPEN UNTIL FILLED," FIRST SCREENING DATE: March 1, 2024 TOUR OF DUTY: To Be Determined AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Unlimited PROMOTION POTENTIAL: None NO. OF VACANCIES: One (1) or more AGENCY: Office of Financial Operations and Systems (OFOS), Central Accounting Operations Division DURATION OF APPOINTMENT: Permanent (Applicants that applied to 23-AC-OFOS-0001 need not reapply) COLLECTIVE BARGAINING UNIT: This position is not in a collective bargaining unit.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Office of Financial Operations and Systems (OFOS), Central Accounting Operations Division. The incumbent is responsible for supervising accounting operations and general ledger maintenance functions on a District-wide basis. Duties include, but are not limited to: managing a team comprised of Accounting Technicians and Accountants who work to minimize the risk of fraud associated with the processing of supplier and customer payments; reviewing and monitoring direct voucher transactions for appropriateness, proper authorization, and sufficient documentation; providing approval in the DIFS system; monitoring AP and AR transactions for compliance with established policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations; and attending meetings with representatives from other District agencies/offices and OCFO personnel on matters impacting the activities/work of the AP and AR Unit. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Five (5) years of progressive experience performing duties and responsibilities such as: processing vendor payments timely and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations; reconciling complex accounts payable transactions; recommending improvements to enhance and improve the accounts payable process; and creating financial reports. At least two years of experience providing supervision, guidance and/or training to staff on a variety of AP transactions.
In addition - Applicant must have a bachelor's degree earned at an accredited US institution in accounting or a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. This can include up to six (6) hours of business law. Applicants must submit an official transcript that verifies a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field and 24 semester credit hours in accounting in order to be considered. If applicable, your application package must include a foreign credential course by course evaluation of all foreign transcripts. Acceptable foreign credential equivalency reports must be provided by organizations that have current membership with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE).
Specialized Experience

Experience that provides the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for this position.

SALARY REDUCTION OF REEMPLOYED ANNUITANTS:
