Office of the Attorney General- State of Maryland is Hiring a Part-Time Assistant Attorney General VI- Department of Human Services Near Baltimore, MD

The OAG is seeking applicants for a 60% part-time Assistant Attorney General to represent the Baltimore City Office of Child Support Services. Child support attorneys are primarily responsible for representing the local office of child support in state court litigation involving the establishment of paternity and child support orders, modification of child support orders, and judicial enforcement of child support orders. The attorneys also provide general advice and counsel to the agency.

EXPERIENCE: The ideal candidate for this position would have at least two years of experience in trial litigation. Maryland Bar membership is required or the ability to waive into the Maryland Bar. Applicants must possess excellent oral and written advocacy skills. Family law experience and proficiency with the Maryland Electronic Courts (MDEC) system is helpful, but not required.

EMPLOYMENT BENEFITS: The successful candidate will be eligible for subsidized health benefits (medical, prescription, dental and vision coverage) and life insurance; leave, including annual (vacation), personal, sick, and paid parental leave; and will be eligible for participation in a contributory defined benefit pension plan in which they are vested after ten years.
