 Salary Range:$45,000.00-50,000.00

MAJOR FUNCTIONS:

The primary goal of the Family Support Coordinator is to assist families and individuals with gaining an increased understanding of the progression of addiction and how to navigate insurance and treatment systems. The Family Support Coordinator develops relationships with local substance use prevention, treatment, and recovery services; managed care organizations; area substance use disorder councils; and community stakeholders to assist families with accessing treatment and support services. 

The Family Support Coordinator maintains a separate and individual caseload of 12-15 families depending on level of need, as assigned by the Adolescent and Transitional Age Youth Supervisor.

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contributes to the development of the ethical framework for delivery of family support and recovery-related services and conducts all activities within this framework.
  • Contributes to the development of a family-specific community resource book.
  • Assesses and completes intake paperwork to FSNP.
  • Completes a Family Service Plan.
  • Coordinates with Recovery Coach to complete a Recovery Plan.
  • Provides guidance, support and advocacy for participating families as each plans and engages in recovery activities and support services.
  • Conducts outreach activities in the schools and community centered around the family.
  • Organizes community-based pro-social activities and events.
  • Facilitates weekly family support groups.
  • Provides training in opioid overdose rescue to the community at large.
  • Maintains monthly events calendars and outreach contact logs.
  • Conducts educational presentations for providers of local recovery support services.
  • Conducts educational presentation to groups of prospective participants.
  • Provides services to families involved with other Odyssey House programs.
  • Participates in case conferences as necessary.
  • Eligible to serve on Consumer Advisory Board and project steering committee.

REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION/TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  1. High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required, Associates Degree in related field highly desired.
  2. CASAC-T Certification and CRPA or CRPA-P certification required. 
    1. Candidates who will receive those certifications within six months of hire will be considered.
  3. Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR) certification, or to be obtained within six months of hire.
  4. Bi-lingual in Spanish/English highly desired but not required.
  5. Ability to deliver culturally competent services to a diverse client population in an urban setting.
  6. Excellent interpersonal skills, showcasing a genuinely enthusiastic approach towards recovery.
  7. Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
  8. Must be comfortable with local travel when required.
