Qualifications/Knowledge requirements
- Knowledge of ICD-10
- OB/.GYN experience a plus
- Experience with electronic billing (preferred)
- Will review strong billers with certified coding interest
Job duties:
- Assign diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD (International Classification of Diseases) and CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes
- Follow up with the provider on any documentation that is insufficient or unclear
- Communicate and train with clinical staff regarding billing and documentation
- Review patient charts and documents for accuracy when necessary
- Ensure that all codes are current and active
- Reviewing accounts for insurance follow-up
.• Researching denied claims that billing company requires clarification
- Assisting in answering patient or insurance telephone inquiries
- Any other projects or duties as assigned
