Obélix is a French Restaurant located in River North that provides a french bistro experience through the lens of two brothers who grew up in Chicago.

Obélix was recently named a finalist for Best New Restaurant by the James Beard Foundation, the only restaurant in Chicago nominated in this category.

Additionally we received top honors from Chicago Magazine for Best New Restaurant in 2022.

Obélix is looking to add a host on a part time basis with flexibility to be scheduled for brunch and / or dinner shifts.

We are currently open Thursday through Monday for both lunch / brunch and dinner services.

We are looking for someone who is able to work Saturday morning (9 : 30AM-3 : 30PM) and Sunday evening (3 : 30PM-11PM). These will be consistent weekly shifts with the possibility of picking up additional shifts.

Hosts are paid an hourly wage and also get points in the house tip pool.

Duties Include :

• Answering the phones and managing the Voicemail
• Greeting and seating guests
• Managing the floorplan for the service
• Running coat check
• Assisting with menu formatting and printing
• Keeping accurate and complete guest notes and tags
• Maintain communication with servers and other dining room staff

Qualifications :

• Available weekends to work the above hours
• Able to problem solve and make decisions
