Oakwell Academy is seeking grammar school teachers in College Station, TX. We are looking for someone who loves working with children, in discipleship and education settings.
Oakwell Academy is a private Classical, Christian, University-Model School® which takes the best attributes of home schooling and combines them with the best attributes of private Christian education. We are college preparatory, teaching the classical method, centered on Jesus.
Students are on campus 3 days a week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday) and homeschool 2 days a week with their parent/co-teacher.
Oakwell Academy exists to love and glorify God; love and build up the body of Christ through discipleship and help fulfill the Great Commission by loving those who do not know Jesus; affirm and encourage parents; educate students with excellence; and integrate home and school learning and experiences.
Responsibilities
- Communicate lesson plans weekly with co-teachers (parents)
- Prepare to teach already paced lessons to your students
- Create a classroom culture of honor and respect where students are appropriately challenged
- Track students' progress formally and informally to and report to parents
- Communicate with parents regularly
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff members
- Participate in training and equipping as an educator
Skills
- Experience working with children between the ages of 6 to 12 years old preferred (1 year is ok)
- Teaching experience and certtification is a plus, but not required
- Knowledge of safety guidelines and safety practices (training provided)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to make instructions clear

Pay: From $24,000.00 per year
