The Senior Accountant performs duties to maintain complete and accurate financial records at all times, by ensuring all entries are booked correctly and analyzing the GL for any variances.

Senior Accountant Job Duties:

• Performs all accounting operations based on company accounting procedures.
• Responsible for stocking new inventory into accounting system with accurate cost information.
• Receives all incoming payments from customers into accounting system.
• Books closing of all completed vehicle sales into the accounting system. While booking a deal ensures all required paperwork is present and signed by the customer. Ensures all costs associated with sale are accurate and booked correctly. Will update any discrepancies in the Autosoft F&I module for accurate reporting.
• Tracks vehicle deals after sale to ensure timely funding of finance contracts and ensure proper reserve profit amount is updated at time of funding. Assists in getting needed information on funding delays.
• Books all wholesale vehicle sales of the dealership in Autosoft F&I and closes in the accounting system. This includes all Oakes Shield turn ins and arbitrations.
• Has a process to let Title Clerk know when a sale or arbitration is complete and to start the title process.
• Responsible for reconciliation and active management of several GL scheduled accounts. Includes remitting payments on costs associated with products sold at time of vehicle sale.
• Assists in trade in payoff calculations and check payments for payoffs.
• Assists in monthly accounting closings.
• Prepares analysis of accounts, as required. 
• Perform other job related duties as directed by the supervisor.

Senior Accountant Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate’s degree in accounting; BA in accounting preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of all general accounting procedures and GL entries.
• Effective communication and problem solving skills.
• High attention to detail, strong organization, and follow through.
• Ability to prioritize and make sound judgment in decisions while meeting deadlines.
• Proficient office skills.
• Advanced computer usage skills and MS office knowledge.
