Overview

The Public Safety Coordinator will be responsible for securing the building and equipment of the arena and enforcing access throughout the building. They will maintain order before, during, and after events. Public Safety Coordinators will be assigned to a variety of posts during an event. Examples are guest screening using walk through metal detectors and/or handheld wands, posts securing access to restricted areas of the facility or securing parking facilities for events. Positions may require standing or walking for long periods of time. Specific post assignments are subject to change from event to event. 

This role will pays a wage of $26.44 to $33.65.

Responsibilities

• Performs security related functions assigned. 

• Monitors and authorizes the coming and going of all visitors and employees. 
• Patrols venue grounds and monitors visitors, patrons and employees to ensure order and property protection. 
• Responds to emergency calls and incidents at the facility. 
• Assists the public and staff with answering questions. 
• Performs other duties as assigned by Public Safety Management. 

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age. 
• High School Diploma or equivalent. 
• 1-3 years of customer service or security experience preferred. 
• Friendly and outgoing personality with a desire to serve the company and public. 

• Ability to speak and communicate clearly with employees and guests.
• Basic computer skills necessary. 
• Ability to read and write clearly in a legible order to draft clear and thorough incident reports. 
• Available to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends and some holidays. 

• Qualified applicants may be subject to a background check, including a criminal history check. 

Physical Demands: 

• Physical requirements include sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing stairs, kneeling, twisting, lifting, grasping, etc.
• Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time and climb stairs. 
• Must be willing to work in adverse conditions in outside positions when assigned. 

• Lifting requirements – must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
