Overview

Under general direction from the Director of Operations and Operations Manager, the Cleaning Supervisor directs, manages, supervises and coordinates the custodial and housekeeping needs of the venue. This position is a part-time position where the hours are determined by the event schedule of the building.

This role will pay an hourly wage of $12.to $16.00

Responsibilities

• Provide management of services and personnel involved in custodial and housekeeping practices for all areas of the Flint River Entertainment Complex. This position is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of the building prior to events, during events and for the post cleaning after events
• Assist in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities of assigned programs and functions
• Assist in establishing and monitoring work performance and safety standards
• Select, train, motivate and evaluate housekeeping personnel
• Plan, direct and coordinate the housekeeping functions for the facility, staff training and safety programs
• Plan, direct, coordinate, and review the work plan for housekeeping personnel; assign work activities, projects and programs; monitor work flow; inspect work product of subordinates to ensure accuracy and timeliness of completion; meet with staff to review and evaluate work products, methods and procedures; identify and resolve challenges associated with the department
• Ensure compliance with the departmental standards and reporting requirements
• Assist in the development and administration of the Housekeeping portion of the Operations Department budget; forecast additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; monitor and obtain approval for all housekeeping related expenditures; receive and maintain supplies to keep an accurate inventory; make recommendations for, and implement approved budget adjustments as necessary
• Periodically conduct inventory and preventative maintenance of all equipment
• Maintain cost records of work performed and prepare cost estimates as requested
• Develop and maintain accountings for labor and materials by event and cost category
• Prepare payroll work sheets of personnel under functional jurisdiction
• Maintain storage areas and equipment in designated areas in a neat and orderly manner
• Maintain hazardous materials communication program, material safety data sheets and required records and permits as required
• Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with relevant federal, state and local regulations
• Make recommendations for Capital purchases related to areas of functional responsibility
• As directed, conduct a variety of industry related operational studies; recommend modifications to programs, policies, and procedures as appropriate; implement approved modifications

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience in housekeeping or event setup in a convention center, hotel, sports venue or other public assembly facility, with at least one (1) year of supervisory responsibility
• High school diploma or equivalent GED; College degree in Business, Hospitality Mgmt or related field preferred
• Must be able to operate cleaning equipment (Tennant riding machines, walk behinds, etc.)
• Knowledge of being able to fix cleaning equipment is preferred but not required
• Knowledge of floor care (waxing, stripping, buffing floors)
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals
• Demonstrated knowledge of supervisory skills and principles, with experience in work crew supervision and working on a varied work schedule in facility operations
• Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writing
• Must be comfortable multi-tasking and working in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, days, evenings, overnights, weekends, holidays, and extended long hours
