Cost Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Cost Estimator to join our team. This is a full-time on-site position – Monday – Friday 8 am to 5pm.

Preferred Skills:

  • 2 – 5 years of experience working in Flat Media Printing
  • Solid knowledge of common practices and procedures used within the print and digital industry
  • Previous sourcing experience
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to understand and carefully follow both written and oral guidance/instructions.
  • Ability to work independently, and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Quick learner and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Multitasking and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast paced, ever-changing work environment
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Intermediate Excel Knowledge and working knowledge QuickBooks and File Maker
  • Basic math skills including percentages; ability to use a tape measure

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive quote requests and prepare estimates
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding customers, as required
  • Work closely with internal and external customers to formulate estimates and resolve conflicts
  • Compile list of material, labor and time requirements, estimate equipment requirements and subcontracted services utilizing knowledge of products and printing techniques
  • Creatively look for new products and materials to offer customer base and sales team
  • Compute cost estimates and price summaries for assigned jobs and present prepared estimates
  • Check job tickets daily for accuracy
  • Updates cost database
  • Update estimate database for previously quoted products
  • Help out in other departments as needed. Ability to lift/move 30 lbs.

Salary and Benefits:

  • $18.00 – $20.00 per hour
  • Total of 40 hours of PTO available after 90 days
