nvent is Hiring a Field Service Specialist Near Richmond BC, CA

A Field Service Engineer will provide Applications Engineering and after-sales support of all nVent Thermal products to customers in the field. Activities will include technical support of the sales organization, troubleshooting of Heat Trace systems, execution of fee-based services such as training, audits and system commissioning in alignment with the objectives of the Field Support Services (FSS) function. WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION: IN THIS POSITION, YOU WILL GET TO: Must be able to work from a home office within 2.5 hours from Vancouver Canada, and travel on average 2-4 days a week overnight across the BC region. Assist sales and clients on technical, procedural and commercial needs to ensure reliable performance of our applications and full customers satisfaction Represent nVent in engineering design discussions with, for example, clients and sub-contractors Resolving reported failures within the warranty period and support customers for failures outside the warranty period Organizing interested parties to resolve warranty cases as required To provide product training to partners and installers, including product orientation to potential installers. Ability to run technical trainings Ensuring that installation instructions are being adhered to by installers Participate in and carry out internal technical trainings To write technical reports and field reports Working Environment: Office environment, with frequent requirement to enter manufacturing plant requiring protective safety equipment (safety shoes and glasses). This function requires frequent travel. Must be prepared to mobilize overnight on company business or on assignments. Work in confined spaces YOU HAVE: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience with resolving product installation issues with end customers Knowledge of governing bodies (NEC, IEC, IEEE) concerning products Ideally 7 years of previous experience of delivering product/technical training Some knowledge of power distribution and/or heat tracing or industrial applications and/or control and monitoring Experience working with other cultures and in an organization with remote colleagues Understanding of the wider aspects of the organization e.g. internal & external sales Must be able to manage multiple, complex tasks and deal easily with pressure on a day in and day out basis.
