The Impact You Will Make:

The NOC Manager role is responsible for the 24/7/365 day to day operations of the Network Operations Center team. This is a highly visible role, with the core focus of ensuring client services and feeds are in a healthy state while also supporting a range of Nuspire’s managed security services on various networking and security platforms. The manager role ensures team accountability and performance goals are met within the department to help our clients become more secure and achieving their expected outcomes.

In This Role You Will:

  • Lead a team of 3 shift leads and 24x7x365 NOC level 1-3 agents and technicians in a fast-paced environment that includes hiring, performance, coaching, and development of well-rounded, world-class professionals
  • Responsible for managing and setting priorities for the monitoring and post-implementation support of Nuspire’s managed security services. This includes firewall, wireless solutions vulnerability management and endpoint protection
  • Ensure that all processes and day to day operations of the NOC team prioritize the company goal of helping secure our client’s environments
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other leadership within the Service Delivery organization including Implementation, Engineering and Security Operations teams, and other internal stake holders to support existing technologies and services while assisting in operationalizing new products
  • Proactive mindset of always improving existing processes. Identify new opportunities for automation and process/practice improvements to improve the customer experience and add efficiencies to NOC monitoring and device management
  • Plans, organizes, and directs the NOC Team including providing technical guidance to ensure the stable operation of Nuspire network customer facing infrastructure.
  • Field technical escalations from the NOC team supervisors and assist with ensuring critical issues are dealt with in a timely and quality manner.
  • Monitor all cases and incidents to provide accurate metrics and KPI’s while ensuring operational processes are being followed
  • Responsible for managing and setting priorities for projects and initiatives while ensuring department core functions and duties are met
  • Ensures the effective monitoring and response to hardware, software, and network problems.
  • Manage relationships with third-party support organizations under your guidance along with SLA adherence

Competencies You Bring: 

  • 6 years of experience in Networking, IT, cybersecurity or related field
  • 2 years in a leadership role in Network or Security Operations
  • Candidate must demonstrate an understanding of the seven layers of OSi model. In addition, possess a working knowledge of the functions of security devices, IPSec VPNs, TCP/IP, Routing, Switching, VRF, VLANS, and Bandwidth Utilization
  • Candidate must have knowledge of next-generation firewall technologies and related network security devices
  • Candidate must have experience with monitoring tools such as SIEM or network performance monitoring tools
  • Ability to explain technical details to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Basic industry certification such as CompTIA Security , CompTIA Net , CySA or GIAC
  • Associates or Bachelors’ Degree in Information Technology, or equivalent experience

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • 8 years of experience in Networking, IT, or related field
  • Experience managing teams across multiple geographies
  • Hands-on experience or experience managing teams that utilize SIEM or monitoring systems
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure and Google Cloud
  • Operational knowledge in one or more of the following technologies/vendors; ServiceNOW, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Cisco Meraki, Cisco Firepower, Crowdstrike, SentinelONE, Windows Defender Suite, Qualys and Zabbix
  • ITIL Foundations certification
  • Vendor security certifications including Microsoft, Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, et.al.
  • Advanced industry security certifications such as CISSP a plus!
