• The Center is seeking to contract with an LCDC, LPC,LMFT, or LCSW, to provide individual and group substance abuse counselingservices.
• Interviews,screens, and assesses clients for potential program participation and services.
• Providessubstance abuse counseling, education classes, or rehabilitative programs individually
• andin group sessions.
• Implementsfollow-up and after-care programs for clients.
• Monitorstwelve-step recovery groups.
• Maintainsclient records and reports pertaining to services provided and clients'progress.
• Assistsin designing and monitoring chemical dependency treatment programs.
• Assistsin conducting chemical dependency program orientation sessions, trainingprograms, workshops, and seminars.
• May assist in presenting educational programs on substance abuse.
• May provide guidance to others
• Performs related work as assigned

Education, Training, and Experience (including licensure and certification)

Must be Licensed as an LCDC, LPC, LMFT, LCSW in the State ofTexas, with competence and at least one year of experience in chemicaldependency counseling work.

Knowledge of substanceuse/abuse treatment principles and approaches; of health care laws andregulations; of medical diagnoses and procedures; of accepted medical treatmentprograms for mental illness and substance abuse treatment; of community mentalhealth principles, practices, and procedures; and of utilization review andcontrol measures.

Knowledge of chemical dependency and alcoholism, addiction, and relateddisorders; of counseling techniques; diagnostic criteria and of recoveryprocesses.

Skill in interviewing, in listening, in counseling clients and patients, andin the use of a computer and applicable software.

Ability to screen and evaluate clients, to counsel and instruct clients, toimplement rehabilitative and chemical dependency treatment programs, tomaintain records, to prepare reports, to communicate effectively, and toprovide guidance to others.
