Overview

Ntrepid is seeking a passionate System Engineer to join the growing Production Operations team. You will be part of a team that is responsible for deploying and updating software solutions for our customers in a fast-paced, dynamic and competitive environment that meet business objectives and SLAs. The ideal candidate would be local to the DC area. They should also have a solid understanding of both Linux and Windows systems, Java application technology stacks, networking, and system and networking troubleshooting fundamentals. Candidates should also be familiar with automation tools, such as Ansible and Chef, and container and orchestration technologies. As part of a small team supporting mission-critical programs within the company, this position provides the candidate with a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in support of our customers.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and maintain customer applications accurately and in a timely manner
• Document and diagram system changes
• Support multiple product groups by supporting deployment activities and providing feedback to improve procedures
• Provide high-level enterprise (level 2/3) support to resolve production issues
• Write and maintain custom automation and tooling to increase system efficiency and lower human intervention on routine tasks Collaborate with business development and product teams to develop custom solutions when required. Provide work estimates and hardware requirements for such solutions

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required
• Local to the DC area preferred
• Active TS clearance required (may consider those with a Secret clearance depending on experience)
• Bachelors or higher in computer science, electrical engineering, or equivalent experience
• 3 years of relevant experience
• 2 years of proficiency working in Linux OS command-line environments, such as Debian or CentOS
• 1 years of proficiency working in Windows Server environments
• Experience running Ansible playbooks and maintaining inventories
• Experience running PowerShell scripts and procedures
• Experience using version control systems (VCS), such as Git or Subversion
• Familiar interacting SQL language for databases, such as PostgreSQL and MariaDB
• Familiar with monitoring platforms, such as Zabbix and Splunk

Additional Preferred Skills

• Experience developing and using Ansible playbooks
• Experience developing PowerShell and Bash scripts, including error handling
• Experience writing SQL commands for and management of PostgreSQL databases
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and their platforms, such as Jenkins
• Experience deploying and troubleshooting immutable infrastructure with technologies such as Docker and Docker Swarm
