nt4kids.org is Hiring a Medical Billing Specialist (FT) Near Canby, OR

The Billing Specialist is responsible for all creating, preparing and processing OT/PT/ST, mental health and naturopathic medical claims, patient bills and payments for Neurotherapeutic Pediatric Therapies, Inc.
Location: Canby, Oregon.
Hours: Full-time: 32 hours/week, Monday - Thursday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. (Hours to be set upon hire).
Compensation: $21.00/hour.

Neurotherapeutic Pediatric Therapies is a non-profit organization providing occupational therapy, physical therapy and mental health and medical services for children from birth to young adulthood. Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Create and review patient bills for accuracy and completeness, and obtain any missing information.
  • Prepare, review, and transmit claims using Fusion Web Clinic and ChARM, & TherapyNotes including electronic and paper claim processing.
  • Follow up on unpaid claims within the standard billing cycle timeframe.
  • Check Medicaid, MVA and private insurance payments for accuracy and compliance with contract discount.
  • Call insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in payments, if necessary.
  • Research and appeal denied claims.
  • Answer all patient or insurance telephone inquiries pertaining to assigned accounts.
  • Set up patient payment plans, write past due correspondence and work collection accounts.
  • Post payments to accounts from insurance and patients with accuracy and strong attention to detail.
  • Check eligibility and benefits verification for treatments & evaluations.
  • Process and prepare bank deposits.
  • Create, maintain and track monthly financial reports and progress.
  • Prepare and send out patient statements.
  • Add all eligible discounts and fees to a client’s account.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Be proactive.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to meet deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, Google Chrome, scanning, internet and email.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Education and Experience:
  • 2-3 years of medical billing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 preferred.
