NSW is Hiring a Remote Full Charge Bookkeeper

Job Summary

Ideal candidate will reside in the Portland Metro area of Oregon and/or Vancouver, Washington area. While the day-to-day meetings and most of the job will be fully remote, we would like the person in this role to be able to meet in person with the head of the company.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our Asset Management Team - Role is FULLY REMOTE and Part Time. As a Full Charge Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing and completing all aspects of the company's financial records and transactions including but not limited to all aspects of multistate payroll functions, monthly reconciliation, 401(k) processing, preparing/filing federal and state quarterly and annual reporting. Ideal candidate would have some experience working with multifamily assets and/or real estate accounting. This role includes maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.

What You’ll Do

NSW asset manages a small portfolio of multifamily properties in Oregon, Washington, and California. ​You will work as NSW's internal bookkeeper, while helping to manage external processes with Third Party CPAs and Property Management Accounting firms. This role also involves reconciliation of ownership distributions, contributions, and client trust accounts.

Schedule

Working hours for NSW Corporation are typically between Monday-Friday, from 8am – 5pm. Hours for this role can be flexible and are expected to range from about 10-20 hours per week.

Responsibilities

- Manage all aspects of the company's financial records and transactions
- Responsible for NSW's general ledger accounting (QuickBooks)
- Prepare multi-state payroll, file federal/state quarterly & annual reporting
- Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for accounting activities based on up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Conduct account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Process NSW corporate internal expense reporting, corporate card reconciliation
- Monitor cash flow and manage banking activities, including bank reconciliations
- Assist with NSW Corporate budgeting and forecasting processes
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and company policies
- Collaborate and coordinate with external auditors, 3rd party property management accountants, and 3rd party tax accountants

Qualifications

- CPA License, Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or related field preferred (Wage DOE)
- Experience using QuickBooks, Intuit Payroll Ideal
- Proven experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or similar role
- Strong knowledge of financial concepts and technical accounting principles
- Familiarity with governmental accounting standards is a plus
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Quicken or QuickBooks
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis
- Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and identify trends or issues
- Must be a self-starter, problem solver, with the ability to work all the way from upper level accounting responsibilities down to transactional or process level tasks on the day-to-day
- Ability to perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal team members and external partners (such as Property Management Firm Accountants, 3rd Party Tax CPAs, etc.)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
