What you bring to the table
A Beck Healthcare/Life Science Practice Leader manages the overall market strategy of the Regional Healthcare/Life Science Practice in conjunction with the National Director of Healthcare, the Regional Director of Architecture, and the Regional Director. This Leader grows and develops Beck's presence in their region and practice area and becomes an identifiable leader, both externally and internally. This Leader also develops and implements a strategy for expansion of the firm's regional practice portfolio.
The Practice Leader carries out the vision for the regional practice through leadership and frequent communication to and support of our project teams. Therefore, they can implement projects and serve clients with purpose and clarity.
The job involves the following essential functions:

• Leads the development and implementation of their respective regional practice in concert with Beck's regional goals and strategic plan.
• Market Sector Expertise with local knowledge and network.
• Supports the Regional Director and the Director of Architecture in development of new business, strategic client identification, and project pursuits.
• Acts as a responsible and knowledgeable senior-level face of Beck's regional leadership group when engaging prospective clients or other influencers, particularly at the executive level
• Sustains and grows revenue within the Healthcare/Life Science market, helping to achieve top growth for the practice, and working collaboratively with the project team to achieve key operational performance metrics.
• Plays a key leadership role and is an essential part of healthcare project teams, supporting design and planning/ programming.
• Develops and maintains, in conjunction with the Director of Architecture, a market sector annual business plan in support of regional business plan
• Mentors and trains younger staff
• Coordinates with office leadership on managing overall project budgets and milestone schedules.
• Participates in efforts in attracting, training, retaining, growing, and recognizing talent
• Oversees regional practice financial performance
• Contributes to setting overall project revenue and profitability targets and monitors performance to meet or exceed them
• Assists and provides oversight in negotiation of scope and fees on contracts as needed
• Participates in marketing interviews.
• Maintains visibility for Beck within the industry through participation in industry events and development of pertinent content demonstrating leadership and thought leadership
• Possess Medical Planning experience in complex healthcare projects of all scales and types
• Experience in leading healthcare/life science projects from programming/concept design to construction administration and has expertise in healthcare design
• Proven ability to build business and deliver complex Healthcare projects - both interior and core-and-shell design projects, at all scales.

You also meet the following requirements:

• 15 years of relevant healthcare/life science architecture experience
• College graduate with relevant, NAAB accredited degree
• Licensure or equivalent professional certification encouraged
• Market Specific Certification
