The Electro-Mechanical Technician combines knowledge of mechanical technology with knowledge of electrical and electronic circuits. They operate, test, and maintain unmanned, automated, robotic, or electromechanical equipment.
· Team member must be able to work in team oriented and safety conscious environment. “Safety First” expectations include, but are not limited to, participation in company safety programs, to include safety inspections, safety observations and JSA risk assessments as required.
· Reads and interprets common engineering drawings, specification documentation and machinery manuals.
· Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and adjust electrical and mechanical equipment.
· Basic familiarity with the requirements of the NEC (National Electrical Codes) as they pertain to the facility.
· Performs all prescribed preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.
· Perform basic calibration procedures on various pieces of equipment throughout the facility.
· Troubleshoot and correct electronic instrumentation problems with devices such as thermocouples, motor tachometers, temperatures controllers, and pressure transducers.
· Support the production operation by providing immediate response to all breakdowns to minimize equipment downtime.
· Must be able to communicate with co-workers and individuals from other departments to better understand problems and issues.
· Capability to accurately interpret colors.
· Repairs and troubleshoots machinery and equipment used in the production of padded polystyrene trays, to include thermoforming, padding, and extrusion equipment.
· Operates safely all related shop equipment.
· Operates forklifts and yard equipment.
· Work must meet high standards of competent craftsmanship and professionalism in terms of quality, proficiency, efficiency, and material utilization.
· Conducts food safety and defense self-inspections and reports on deficiencies.
Perform other duties as prescribed by supervisors or management.
Shifts available are: 2nd shift- 3:00pm-11:00pm and 3rd shift- 11:00pm-7:00am.
