NOVA Engineering is hiring an Accounts Payable Analyst reporting to the Kennesaw, GA headquarters. The Accounts Payable Analyst performs accounting work that requires skills in Accounts Payable which contributes to the company’s overall financial health. Ensuring that all vendor payments meet Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) by following policies and procedures for approval and required documentation for timely processing. Must deliver an elevated level of customer service and demonstrate positive relationships with vendors and locations in the field to help facilitate a continuous service preventing disruptions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for reviewing accounts payable entries against supporting documentation to ensure proper general ledger account coding, department and project coding, approvals, and validity of invoices. Review will also include the verification of invoice numbers to prevent duplicate payments.
• Responsible for reviewing Corporate Credit Card transactions to verify the validity of receipts and account coding. Will also download the transaction data from the bank and upload it into ERP System.
• Assist employees and vendors regarding accounts payable invoice and Corporate Credit Card questions and facilitate prompt resolution.
• Full responsibility for maintaining the vendor Masterfile, including the set up new vendors and updating existing vendor master data in the ERP system.
• Obtain, review for compliance, and file vendor information such as Form W-9, subcontractor agreements and Certificate of Insurance (COI).
• Monitor the expiration of COIs on a monthly basis and work with the branch administrative assistants to ensure updated vendor information is obtained timely.
• Assist with month-end closing procedures related to accounts payable
• Adhere to company policies and procedures
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

ATTRIBUTES, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance or equivalent combination of education and experience in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required.
• 3 years full-cycle Accounts Payable experience and knowledge of GAAP required.
• Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
• Good working knowledge of Excel and general computer skills
• Initiative-taking with ability to work well individually or in a team setting
• Excellent customer service skills
• Engineering industry experience a plus
• Deltek/Vantagepoint experience a plus
