An employee in this position, under the direction of an RN, will provide selected indirect and direct patient care, selected clerical duties, general housekeeping, and routine cleaning of equipment

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist patients with ADLs (Activities of daily living).
• Obtain/provides information (report) on assigned patients.
• Accurately obtain and records on the graphic and beside sheets.
• Prepare patients to be transported to other units.
• Give complete daily patient care to non-ambulatory patients.
• Keep environment clean and tidy.
• Completes the appropriate part of the Administrative Data Base.
• Assess and reports any deviation from the patients usual physical and mental status.
• Completes and /or assists with adequate oral intake for nutritional needs of a patient.
• Initiates measures for the prevention of skin breakouts.
• Understands the importance of the prevention of infection and utilizes good aseptic techniques.
• Perform vital signs, accuchecks, intake/output when needed.
• Maintain supplies for the nursing unit.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
