General Description
The Northwest STEM Hub Program Specialist position, under the general direction of the Northwest STEM Hub Director, will coordinate and support the implementation of several priority STEM Hub programs. The Northwest STEM Hub works in Clatsop, Columbia, and Tillamook counties to create and elevate STEM and CTE opportunities throughout the region. The Hub is a partnership between K-12 educators, higher education, community-based organizations, families, and industry that promotes authentic STEM experiences that ignite students’ passions and interests. Four program development opportunities are:
? Development and support of regional Computer Science programming
? Development and support for regional career connected learning programming
? Development and outreach to support and establish teachers, youth, and community networks to support programs
? Community and industry outreach and coordination

QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. 1. Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Psychology, Community Development, or related field, or 3-5 years related experience, preferred.
2. Valid Oregon driver’s license
3. Experience working with youth, workforce development, and cross-sector partners preferred.
4. Bilingual Spanish, preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
1. Demonstrate a high level of communication/interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and harmoniously with school personnel, college personnel, P-20 students, parents and community members from diverse cultures and backgrounds
2. Ability to facilitate effective small and large group trainings to students and education partners
3. Highly organized, strong logistics, and follow through required
4. Ability to work independently on complex and varied tasks without direct supervision
5. Ability to operate standard office equipment and experience with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and experience with Google Drive
6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board or Administration may deem appropriate and acceptable

Essential Functions: Include the following. Performs some or all of the following
tasks. Other Duties may be assigned. The duties listed below are not inclusive, but
characteristic of the type and level of work assigned for this position.


A. Develop, manage, and implement systems and processes for the day-to-day STEM Hub program operations including but not limited to: Computer science and career connected learning programming.
B. Provide excellent customer service to school districts, teachers, students, families, and community partners.
C. Development, outreach, and recruitment of P-20 teachers, youth, and community members to participate in STEM Hub programs with a strong focus on equity and accessibility for underrepresented groups in CTE and STEM.
D. Create and develop culturally specific and responsive training materials and curriculum for P-20 professional development.
E. Meet deadlines in the preparation of documentation such as tracking and reporting on benchmark goals related to activities specific to assigned duties
F. Independently prepare, maintain, and disseminate records/files; retain and retrieve files, data, and related information requiring knowledge of department procedures and compliance with policies defining the STEM Hub work
G. Compose, review, edit, and proofread documents and reports and presentations
H. Initiate completion of regularly recurring and on-demand reports as needed for correspondence and compliance or other reporting.
I. Attend professional development activities offered or as requested by supervisor
J. Perform other duties as assigned.
