Northwest Permanente is Hiring a Compensation Analyst Near Portland, OR

Overview

The Compensation Analyst is responsible for assisting in the refinement, analysis, and ongoing administration of the various compensation programs. This position regularly advises and consults with Directors, Managers, and supervisors on compensation while monitoring the legal compliance of programs. Major Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates jobs for placement in established pay structure by reviewing job descriptions, determining FLSA status, collecting and analyzing market data, and reviewing similar positions internally to ensure internal equity.
  • Performs job evaluations of positions, including gathering data relevant to job studies, extracting market data from various surveys.
  • Advises and consults with managers and supervisors on job design and compensation.
  • Provides training and consultation to managers, supervisors and/or HR professionals on compensation subject matter.
  • Participates in the annual administrative staff compensation merit increase process including salary structure changes, salary increase budget and/or additional market adjustments.
  • Participates in annual salary surveys, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for changes.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to compensation.
  • Partners with the Human Resources team to craft and refine job descriptions that attract top talent, while also being thoughtful to company standards.
  • Acts as a consultant to the Human Resources team to support their decision making for hiring, promotions and specific organizational initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, Human Resources or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Human resources with a focus in Compensation, Payroll, Benefits, or another discipline that includes salary or compensation negotiation/discussion with either managers or employees.
  • Thorough knowledge and practical understanding of human resources function and state and federal employment regulations including FLSA and Antitrust laws.
  • Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy and maintain confidentiality.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including the use of vlookups, pivot tables and advanced formulas.

Preferred Work Experience and Qualifications:

  • CCP Certification
  • Four (4) years’ experience in Compensation, specifically in job analysis and review, as well as department structure.
  • Experience with UKG Pro/ Ultimate Software
