The Patient A/R Representative is responsible for resolution of all outstanding claims due to patient balances by reducing the balance to zero by receiving payment in full or applying discounts for financial assistance or self-pay. The Patient AR rep makes payment arrangements and provides explanations to patient queries related to their balances.
Role and Responsibilities:
· Communicate EOB information to patients in the event they have a question over the phone.
· Patient Balances 91-120 days – below 5% of total Patient A/R for the patient
· Patient Balances over 120 days – must be $0 or reported to collections
· Reports system related issues immediately to management’s attention.
· Submits possible process improvement to management’s attention to discuss/review
· Participates in recommended online educational classes through ADP
· Maintains strictest confidentiality.
