JOB TITLE: Director of Philanthropy

SALARY: $65,000 - $75,000, plus benefits

REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

SUMMARY: We are looking for a new team member who thrives on building relationships and has a passion for marshalling support for a well-loved community organization. Skills in fundraising, community engagement, and/or sales will help you take NSC's established philanthropy program to the next level.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Lead the philanthropy program at the Northshore Senior Center, including donor stewardship/communications, data tracking, small event planning, grant writing, and community engagement.

• Work directly with the CEO and Board of Directors; activate them as your primary fundraisers
• Rewarding, hands-on work in every aspect of philanthropy, from online campaigns to major gifts to planned giving
• Transform NSC’s current fundraising efforts into a dynamic, sector-leading philanthropy program
• A great opportunity for someone to learn the ropes in the full spectrum of fund development, and to build a powerful network in the community
• Apply the principles of authentic community engagement and multiculturalism to strengthen the organization’s reputation in the community
• Flexibility in hours; potential for occasional remote work after on-boarding

We are not your average senior center. Founded in 1972, Northshore Senior Center has grown to be one of the largest senior centers in the US, providing support across the aging spectrum. NSC focuses on holistic services (arts, education, health, socialization, travel, fitness, etc.) for older adults, people with disabilities, their families, and their community. Our dedicated staff and volunteers, welcoming facilities, and 300 programs create a vibrant place to connect, learn, and thrive.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor of Arts/Science degree from an accredited college or university PLUS two (2) years of successful experience in a field such as fundraising, sales, marketing, and/or relationship management; OR four (4) years of demonstratively successful experience with fundraising or experience in a related field.

• Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the organization
• Proficient in Microsoft office applications, including Word, Excel, and SharePoint
• Experience with graphic design via Canva preferred, but not required
• Experience and comfort with social media preferred, but not required
• Must be a dynamic leader and manager, detail-oriented, highly organized, a quick learner, able to juggle multiple tasks, activities, and duties
• Proficient written, verbal and presentation communications skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and have a tactful, mature, and sincere attitude
• Ability to work both independently and cooperatively as a team member
